The Department of Nursing, provides nursing education to meet community needs. The nursing program is committed to providing high quality associate degree nursing education with a mission to educate nurses who use critical thinking to solve problems; who appreciate diversity; who demonstrate high standards of professional practice; and who are caring, informed, accountable, creative and articulate decision-makers.
The Department of Nursing offers courses that lead to the attainment of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Individuals currently credentialed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) are encouraged to apply to the accelerated LPN to ADN transition program.

Louisiana State University at Alexandria is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

- Spring Applications
- Application packets are available September 1, 2010. Completed applications are due by October 2, 2010.
- GPA must be 2.5 or greater at the time of application.
- Transcripts from other universities are due to LSUA's Admission Department by September 1, 2010.
