About

The Department of Nursing, provides nursing education to meet community needs. The nursing program is committed to providing high quality associate degree nursing education with a mission to educate nurses who use critical thinking to solve problems; who appreciate diversity; who demonstrate high standards of professional practice; and who are caring, informed, accountable, creative and articulate decision-makers.

Students who finish the ADN program successfully can be assured that they have been well prepared to pursue their registered nurse licensure. To further facilitate success on the NCLEX exam, students who graduate from the associate degree program are offered the popular Hurst Review on campus. Furthermore, progress toward achieving the goal of licensure is followed by nursing department faculty mentors. The faculty is as proud of you attaining your licensure as you are.

Students who complete their ADN degree are encouraged to apply for entry into the RN to BSN Program. With the completion of this program student will have opportunities to explore leadership positions, further their education into advanced practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Anesthetist, or pursue becoming a Nurse educator.

The two year ADN Program and the LPN to RN Program Applications and required fingerprinting can be completed twice a year (October 1st and 2nd and February 1st and 2nd ) by applying for entry into the first semester clinical course, Nursing 1014 and the LPN Transition course, Nursing 1018.
