The Student Nurses Association is a professional organization involved in community and campus health projects, state and national educational activities, and fund-raising events to support the professional growth of its members. The organization provides exposure to the professional and service side of the nursing profession as well as involvement in legislation and decision-making affecting nurses on state and national levels. It is open to all LSU Alexandria nursing and pre-nursing students.

The LSUA Nursing Alumni and Friends Association is an organization open to all former LSUA nursing students or individuals interested in promotion and improvement of the LSUA Nursing Program. Committees within the organization include the Nursing Scholarship Committee co-chaired by Debbie Smith, Nancy Hamilton, and Beverly Lowentritt; the Nursing Promotion Committee co-chaired by Linda Hickman, Alicia Book, and Cindy Vanlangendonck; and the Nursing Curriculum and Networking Committee co-chaired by Sandra Duck and Lisa Lauve.
